First Look at New Spider-Man Suit for The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Last week, director Marc Webb gave a little tease of what we could expect as far as Spider-man's new costume would look like in next summer's The Amazing Spider-Man 2.  Well, a little over a week later, we now have our first look at Peter Parker's new duds.

As Webb previously promised late last year, the new costume features much larger (white lensed) eyes and a number of smaller changes to the suit's color and texture.  You can see that this version of Spidey's costume is much more inline with his current Ultimate incarnation and has drawn a few comparisons to Sam Rami's Spider-Man films.  You can click the image to the left for a much larger view.

Also, to get a better idea of the changes, I've done a quick mock up comparing The Amazing Spider-Man suit against the sequel's version.  You can check that out after the break.

What do you think about the new suit?  Love it or hate it?  Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Four Minute Preview to Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man

Last night brought us the newest "super" preview for the upcoming film, The Amazing Spider-Man...but this time the it's a whopping four minutes long.

I haven't kept too up-to-date with the latest viral campaign for the movie, but from what I can tell most of the new footage shown in the super preview is right in the beginning; correct me if I'm wrong, but most of the later half has been seen through previous trailers.

I think the movie will be a pretty fun ride in the theater and will definitely make up for Sam Rami's Spider-Man 3. *cough*disco dance*cough*

Are you getting excited for the latest superhero reboot?  Give the trailer a look and let me know what you think in the comments below.

The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters on July 3.

Third Trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man Hits the 'Web'

A little late on this, I know, but I felt like I needed to have this on the blog.  The new trailer, which is now playing in front of the just released film The Avengers, gives a better look at what to expect from the movie.  It also gives a glimpse of the overall story line of Peter trying to find out what happened to his parents, that I've read will over-arch multiple sequels.

Anyway.  Let me know what you think of the trailer in the comments below.

The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters July 3, 2012.

Nerd Art: Pixel Heroes

Artist Pablo Cialoni has created the above piece of artwork depicting some of your favorite heroes and villains in 8-bit form.  If you like it, you can purchase a print or have a skin made for your iPhone/laptop/iPad over at society6.

There are only three or four characters I can't name.  How many can you guess??

New Trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man Hits the Web

Pun intended :)

Columbia Pictures has unveiled the newest trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man, which hits theaters July 7th.

By the looks of it, it seems Andrew Garfield is already above and beyond what Toby McGuire brought to the role.  Spider-Man is actually a smartass.

What do you think?  Do you think the movie will be good?  What do you think of Garfield?  Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Two New Photos From The Amazing Spider-Man

Sony has released two new photos from the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man.  The shots, seen below, feature Gwen Stacey played by Emma Stone and Peter Parker played by Andrew Garfield.

By the looks of the Parker photo, and previous ones released, it looks like we're gonna get an emo/hipster-esqe Peter.

You can check out larger versions of the pics by clicking on the photos below.

The Marc Webb directed film will be released July 3rd, and also stars Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.

New Promo Art for The Amazing Spider-Man, Reminds Me of Something...

I realized I've been neglecting a lot of the Spider-Man news that have some out in the last couple weeks.  To remedy that, I thought I'd point out some promo art that's been released by Sony for next year's The Amazing Spider-Man.

While the images look pretty cool, showcasing Spidey in some classic poses, the photo on bottom left is way to reminiscent of 2002's Spider-Man poster.

Now, I understand that these poses are pretty standard for Spider-Man, but you would think that if the studio was trying to separate this franchise from the Sam Rami/Toby McGuire films, they would try to make these shots stand on their own two feet.

Check out larger versions of the photos by clicking on the thumbnails below and let me know what you think in the comments section.  Do you think Sony should've tried something a little more creative?

What Could Have Been: Green Goblin FX Test from Spider-Man

While 2002's Spider-Man is considered one of the best comic book adaptations to-date, many agree that there was much disappointment behind the overall look of the Green Goblin in the movie.  Rather than getting something that more closely resembled the Goblin from the comics, we got something akin to the 1995 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie.

The above video, which was released yesterday by FX company Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc., shows early FX test footage of what the Green Goblin should could have looked like in Sam Rami's comic book flick

What do you think?  Would you have rather have seen this version of the Green Goblin?  Let me know what you think in the comic below.

Stay nerdy my friends.
