Bill Murray Comments on Ghostbusters 3 - "We'll Try Again."

The question of whether or not there will be a Ghostbusters 3 has always pretty much hinged on whether or not Bill Murray would be involved.  Back in March, it was pretty much definitive that Murray wanted nothing to do with a third film.

Well throw whatever you know right out the window, because the "will he or won't he" drama has just picked up...again.

In a recent appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman, Murray was again asked on whether or not he would do another Ghostbusters movie:
Well, that’s all that they wanted to know at Cannes, too. You know, you just gotta have a really good script. It’s hard. Even the second ‘Ghostbusters’ wasn’t as much fun for me as the first one. It’s hard to make a sequel. It’s gotta be really funny, and that first one was just so darn funny.
Letterman then followed up by asking if Murray knew if anyone was currently working on a new script, where he responded, "Well I think...We'll try again.  I always drag my feet on it."

There are two interesting things that I find from this interview.  1) Murray knows that he is the hold up if there is ever going to be a Ghostbusters 3 and 2) he actually seems to be giving a genuine response to the GB3 question that he normally either shrugs off completely or gives a pretty over-the-top answer to.

However, it could just be my fanboyish getting in the way of my judgement, as Murray's feelings towards GB3 seems to change based on the day of the week.  Take a look at the interview after the break and decide for yourself.  Ghostbusters talk takes place around the 2:00 minute mark.

And as always, let me know what you think in the comments below.
