Man Builds Full-Sized, Street Legal Little Tikes 'Cozy Coupe' Car

British man, John Bitmead, built an street legal, full-sized version of Playskool's "Cozy Coupe" car that we all probably had at some point as kids.  Why you may ask?
Just thought, what a wonderful idea to make something like that, but real.
That's good enough reason for me.  It took John roughly 1,000 hours and £4,000 (~$6,500) to build the adult-sized kid's car.  It runs on normal gasoline (petrol in the UK), has fully functional head and tail lights, an air bag, side mirrors, and can allegedly can reach speeds of up to 70MPH (110km/h).  He'll ultimately use the car to help raise money for charity.

You can see the car in action watching the embedded video below.

LEGO to Produce 30th Anniversary Ghostbusters Playset

LEGO CUUSOO has announced that it will be producing a 30th Anniversary Ghostbusters Playset, featuring Ecto-1 and the boys in grey.

If you're not familiar with LEGO CUUSOO, it's a site from LEGO where fans can submit their own concept projects to be voted on by other fans.  If a certain project receives 10,000 supporters, it will go up for review by LEGO as a potential real life product.  If you happen to be chosen, you'll receive 1% of the total net sales.  Pretty cool right?

Well community member BrentWaller submitted his idea for a Ghostbusters playset that commemorated the 30th anniversary of the franchise.  After receiving the required number of supporters, the project was added to LEGO CUUSOO's fall review.  Ultimately, they loved the concept (I mean who wouldn't...it's Ghostbusters) and will be creating an actual playset based on Brent's original design, which is due to hit shelves later this year.

I love LEGO and I love the Ghostbusters, so this to me is awesome news.  However, I hope LEGO sticks pretty close to Brent's original Ecto-1 design since it's pretty much prefect.  I saw how the final Back to the Future playsets turned out compared to the original concept last year and was pretty disappointed.

You can watch the LEGO CUUSOO announcement embedded after the break.

Will you be picking up the set later this year?  Let me know in the comments below.

First Ninja Turtles Poster Leaks to Web

Fresh off the heels of yesterday's leak, which showed off the on-set maquettes of our beloved Turtles, we now have our first look at a leaked version of the films movie poster.

The image to the left was first spotted on Instagram, but a member of the Technodrome forum managed to get a clearer view.  As you can see, the Turtles very much look like the images that popped up online yesterday and sports the name and logo that first appeared online last year.  I guess at this point we can confirm that the film's name will simply be Ninja Turtles.

While this definitely gives us our first good look of the four (hopefully) main characters of the film, I still don't like them.  Yes, they look slightly better than I thought based on yesterday's leaked images, but I still don't like their designs.  There's something about turtles with lips that just bother me and I really don't know why Raphael is the size of The Rock...

Anyway, what do you think of the poster/look of the Turtles/movie title?  Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Custom Cassette Tape Shaped Coffee Tables

Ever want a pretty rad coffee table that looks like an old school cassette tape?  Well you probably didn't know that you did after you see these.

The coffee tables produced by TAYBLES, a company "comprised of three young artist/entrepreneurs (Taylor, Justin and Zach) who set out to make a product that would not only be a functional piece of furniture, but also a nostalgic piece of art".
The Cassette TAYBLE is hand crafted with birch hardwood and a vinyl label that is sealed and protected with a clear epoxy coating. Stainless steel cup holders give the tape dimension and house LED lights to spice up your party with the flip of a switch. The tape-run folds down to offer a practical storage space for remotes and magazines while amping up the nostalgic look of the cassette tape. The table stands on your choice of carbon steel pin legs or sled legs.
Carrying the 80's theme of creating your own mixed tape, TAYBLES can also work with you to create a custom table.  You can choose from different stains, colors, labels, graphics and legs, making it uniquely yours.  What's even cooler, is that a portion of each sale goes towards a couple charities they work with.  So not only do you get a pretty cool conversation starter for your place, you're helping some pretty good causes.

The tables range from $1,499 to $1,799     depending on the materials, style and functionality you want.  If interested, be sure to head over to TAYBLES store here.

UPDATE: First Look at Michael Bay's Ninja Turtles & Shredder

I should preface this by saying, what you're about to see can't be unseen.

Movie site, ComicBookMovie.com,  has gotten what appears to be pictures of the on-set maquettes for the Michael Bay produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Ninja Turtles or whatever the hell it's going to be called.  According to the site, these pictures come from someone "close to the production", but they definitely match toy descriptions that hit the web a couple weeks ago.

We're also getting our first look at what appears to be The Shredder from the upcoming film as well via Technodrome forum user RaphTMNT, who has posted an image of what is supposedly concept art for what old Shredhead will end up looking like.

In all honesty, and I try not to be one of those irate fanboys, but I absolutely HATE these designs.  They look more like monsters than turtles and definitely don't look like teenagers.  As for Shredder, it doesn't matter; if you can't get the turtles right, who cares?  I've officially given up on this train wreck.

UPDATE:  The images have been removed at the request of Paramount Pictures.

What do you think of the turtles' new look?  Let me know what you think in the comments below.

First Official Image of Peter Capaldi in His 12th Doctor Costume

I'm not sure what else to say other than here is our first complete look at the 12th Doctor, Peter Capaldi!

We got our first look of the new Doctor in the final moments of this past year's Christmas special, but that was post-regeneration and still wearing Matt Smith's current series costume.  So when I say this is our first "complete" look, this is the first time we're seeing Capaldi in what will undoubtedly be his trademark look.

While I like the look, I'm a bit torn.  It's somewhat reminiscent of both John Pertwee's and Matt Smith's looks, but lacks a bit of personalization making it Capaldi's own.  Hopefully we see his look evolve a bit more as time goes by.

Hopefully we get another sonic as well!! :)

What do you, the Whovians, think of it?  Love it?  Hate it?  What would you have liked the 12th Doctor to sport?  Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Doctor Who Series 8 is expected to be back this fall.

New "Dream" Trailer for Disney's Maleficent

During last night's Grammys, the newest trailer for Disney's Maleficent aired.  Entitled "Dream", the trailer shows off a lot of new footage and also includes a pretty eerie (but cool) version of "Once Upon a Dream" by Lana Del Rey, which you'll probably recognize from the original Sleeping Beauty.  What's also pretty cool, is that the single has been made available exclusively on Google Play to download for free.  If interested, head on over to the Google Play Store here.

Honestly, the more I see of this film, the more I'm getting excited for it.  I'm a pretty big Disney fan and this looks to be a pretty epic movie.
Maleficent is the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty.” A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.
Maleficent hits theaters everywhere May 30th, 2014 (my birthday *wink*).

What do you think of the latest trailer?  Excited or meh?  Let me know what you think in the comments below.
