RUMOR: Harrison Ford in Talks for Blade Runner Sequel

Last March, it was announced that Alcon Entertainment had acquired the rights to make prequels and sequels to 1982's Blade Runner.  Then this past August brought news that original director Ridley Scott had signed on to direct whatever the next film would be.

Speculation began on whether or not original star Harrison Ford would be involved.  Now, Twitch Film is reporting that Ford is currently in early talks about the new film.

However, Twitch was quick to point out that the talks are still in "very early stages".  It is quite possible that things may not work out, as previous statements have alluded to the fact that Scott would be the only Blade Runner alum returning.

Producer Andrew Kosove made that clear in an August interview which appeared in the LA Times:
"In no way do I speak for Ridley Scott but if you’re asking me will this movie have anything to do with Harrison Ford, the answer is no. This is a total reinvention and in my mind that means doing everything fresh, including casting."
Since the announcement last March, many have been wondering what a new Blade Runner film would be: a sequel, prequel or reboot.  If Ford were to sign on, the film would most definitely be a sequel; unless of course it would be as a cameo, which I personally don't think Ford would do.

What do you think?  Would you be more willing to see a Blade Runner follow-up if it involved Ford?  Let me know what you think in the comments below.
